Shuttle Buses

Airport shuttle buses are driven 30,000 to 40,000 miles per year, average only five miles per gallon and uses 6,000 to 8,000 gallons of fuel a year. A typical city transit bus is driven 23,000 miles per year, averages only five to seven miles per gallon and uses 3,000 to 5,000 gallons of fuel a year. VTM’s hybrid system increases fuel efficiency in these applications by up to 40%.

School Buses

VTM’s hybrid system dramatically reduces emissions at the bus top. Children are most vulnerable to the effects of air pollution because they breathe 1.5 times the air volume for their size and their lungs are still growing. VTM Hybrid also delivers significant gains in fuel efficiency. It is approved for use in school buses by the Indiana Department of Education and Indiana State Police.

Delivery Trucks

A typical urban delivery truck is driven 25,000 miles per year, averages only five to seven miles per gallon and will use 3,500 to 5,000 gallons of fuel a year. The VTM Hybrid increases fuel efficiency in these applications by up to 40%.

Garbage Trucks

Garbage trucks have the lowest fuel efficiency (2.8 miles per gallon) of any vehicle type and are a major source of air pollution. An average garbage truck travels 25,000 miles annually and uses approximately 8,600 gallons of fuel each year. VTM’s hybrid system significantly improves the fuel efficiency and reduces the emissions of garbage trucks.
